Album 23: Quaker Photo Album Maulsby FamilyThis is an unusual Blue & Gold Velvet Photo Album with attached metal bird. There are 44 Photos with notations, some are Quakers. There are 13 Cabinet Cards (1880-1890), 25 CDVs (1860-1880), 1 tintype and the remainder miscellaneous.

The first hand is in pencil, and is for the majority of the photos. The second hand is in ink and is only seen on a few of the photos. I have notated the notes to indicate if the second inked hand has written the note. My notes are in square brackets [ ] Words in curved brackets ( ) were in the original written notes in the album. When I took the photos out of the album, many had inscriptions in period handriting - very neat and beautifuly written. Some were dated. I believe these were written by Edward Burd Edwards and that he was the original owner of the photo album. |
